I suggest this:
-- create a new Blog (1 minute)
-- upload the new template...just to see how it's working...
-- later, you can delete this test blog (less than a minute)
If you decide to change your original template, just be sure that you:
back up your current template
back up your widgets
So you can always reverse the action...
Whatever you decide....

Excellent template. I have implemented it (with minor changes) at www.thecomicproject.blogspot.com and my readers seem to like it too :-)
A few things I needed help in tweaking:
1. Reduce the gap between lines in the sidebar (I want them to appear closer together)
2. How can I have different characteristics for different widgets, i.e. if I wanted to have a black heading for the archive, but blue one for labels?
3. Include a small image with each line on the sidebar (like an arrow or something)

I was able to fix one problem in uploading this to my blogspot.
But later, it won't save the template with this message:
"We were unable to save your template
Please correct the error below, and submit your template again.

Just in case you're wondering, I'm using it on a testblog so I know later how work out fixes when I eventually apply it on my blog.

First of all, back up your widgets. You know you lose those when changing the template?
Back up Blogger widgets
About the message. When you get it, just search the code for LinkList1 and change it into LinkList11...(any other number will do..better use bigger ones)..Change only one of two duplicates. This is harmless.
Do the same for any other double widget ID.
Second option is to delete your previous widgets/gadgets. Remove them from LAYOUT ► PAGE ELEMENTS. And them upload the template.

Have a problem with the file you wanted me to download. It's an RAR (have no idea) and blogger alerts me with some other headache. So I opt to continue working on the previous template that I uploaded on a testblog. (surprisingly, blogger saved it last night.)

Yes, it's a .rar file, but all you have to do is extract it, and you'll get a folder with article.xml + some instructions. To extract the .rar file, right click on it, and select Extract here.

I have a question about incorporating adsense into the rightmost column. If you view a post on it's individual page, the ad will appear. If you look at the homepage, however, it will disappear due to the ads that appear between posts.

Hm. Adsense is doing this for a reason. If you have more than 3 different ad conainers, you can be banned...
You can:
► decrease the number of posts on the main page (in this case, 2)
► find a tutorial about "different widgets on different pages in blogger" (this is possible)
► also, check if this article can help

I just wanted to stop by and Thank you for this awesome template! I modified it a bit and I love the layout :) I know I didn't make it wide enough for bigger screens but it looks decent on them. I'm having issues with the recent posts column. It's supposed to show up under the "Inspiring Clucks" but doesn't. When I click on it in Layout too edit there is absolutely nothing in the edit box! not even a delete button. I know it's probably something simple to fix but I really have no clue what I'm doing and don't want to mess up my blog! Help please :)

you can't. At least not from there. The style is embedded in the CSS of the template, and to change it, you have to access LAYOUT ► EDIT HTML, and locate the parts you'd like to change...

I finally did my blog a face lift! After weeks of the-whole-she-bangs in finding and trying the perfect blog, I am using your template for its clean look and not so fussy customizing, and fast loading too. Thank you so much....
But I do have some difficulty it seems that after I install a new widget it was very hard to move it around even if it is in the same bar. Can you help me with this, because I still want to try few looks/layout until its perfect. Is it possible also to change the white outer wrapper with image as a background... please tell me how..

...hm. I don't know about the widget part. You can try moving it by cut/paste it's code in HTML.
About the white outer wrapper. Well, you can tweak this line:
background:#ffffff url(http://i40.tinypic.com/161lrt1.jpg);
Change the color (#ffffff). But there's not much else to do. The background pic (http://i40.tinypic.com/161lrt1.jpg) is set to repeat, and moving it, you'll loose the current look.
But, if you don't mind this, go for it!
